The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The Clerk of the Assembly returns the result of the general election held on 4 October 2019, the forty-fourth such election held under the Assembly's standing orders, in which five parties contested the sixty-three seats distributed across the seven regions of nine. Mean turnout across the regions was 77.7 per cent. The Reed Party returned the largest number of members, sixteen, with the Assembly Union and the Continuity Party each returning fifteen, the Workers' Front thirteen, and the Marsh Preservation League four. No party commanded a majority of the sixty-three seats, and the four parties returning fifteen members or more sat within one seat of one another, the Reed Party's margin resting on its clean sweep of the Ostrand and the Sudmark. The Marsh Preservation League, alone among the five in failing to return a member in every region, nonetheless took a seat in the Capital District, the Osmoor, Norrfeld and Westgau, and its four members sat as the smallest bloc returned.

The Capital District returned the highest turnout of the seven regions, at 89.0 per cent, and gave the Continuity Party its narrowest lead of the night over the Assembly Union, nine-tenths of a point separating the two. The Ostrand and the Sudmark gave the Reed Party its clearest results, each returning four of its nine members to that party, while Westgau alone returned a plurality to the Workers' Front, whose 40.0 per cent there was the highest single share recorded by any party in any region. Kesselhöh divided closely between the Continuity Party and the Workers' Front, less than a point apart, and Norrfeld was the only region in which the Assembly Union led the poll.
