The Speaker: The question before the House is that the Bill be now read a third time and do pass. I call the Minister.

Manfred Brenn (Minister of Finance): I move the third reading. The Ministry of Finance has costed the Bill and the sum is in the estimates. The duty falls where the printed Bill says it falls. The Bill is in the hands of the House.

Gisela Krermann (Kesselhöh; The Reed Party): Speaker, The members for the reed districts will ask, as they always ask, what the Bill means for the harvest and the causeways. I should like the Minister to say what the yield will be, and I should like it in marka and not in percentages. Kesselhöh has had a hard year. I say that not against the Bill but so that the Minister remembers it when the fees are fixed. I shall vote against the Bill. [Shame.]

The Reed Party has read the Bill with the harvest in mind. The harvest is late this year and the causeways are under water in two districts. I have the Bill before me and the House has it before it. I should like the Minister to say what the yield will be, and I should like it in marka and not in percentages. The Bill should pass and I shall vote for it. [Shame.]

Bertil Keichba (Westgau; The Assembly Union): Mr. Speaker, The members for Westgau have met and are of one mind on the Bill, which does not happen often. The liberty of the subject is a large phrase for a small Bill, but I use it, because the Bill is small and the liberty is not. I read the clause. Comes into force on 1 January 1975. I should like the Minister to say what the yield will be, and I should like it in marka and not in percentages. The Bill should pass and I shall vote for it. [Interruption.]

Hedwig Drexel (The Ostrand; The Reed Party): Speaker, The members for The Ostrand have met and are of one mind on the Bill, which does not happen often. The land pays for everything in the end. The Reed Party will vote as the land would vote if it could. The material provision is this: Sets the duty at 3 pfen in the marka. I ask the House to note it. I should like the Minister to say what the yield will be, and I should like it in marka and not in percentages. I cannot vote for the Bill as it stands and I shall not. [Interruption.]

The Minister thanked the House for a short debate and asked for a short division.

The Speaker put the question. The Ayes were challenged and the House divided.

The Speaker declared the Ayes to have it and the Bill was passed.

The House adjourned shortly after noon.
