The Speaker: Order. The Bill before the House is a Line measure. The Minister of War will move it and the House will hear him in the customary silence.

Maria Holt (Minister of War): I beg to move that the Bill be now read a third time and do pass. What the Line requires the House provides; the Bill provides it. The Ministry has nothing to add to the printed Bill. In terms: Charged to the Annual War Appropriation. Passed unanimously, as is customary for measures concerning the Line. I move.

Jonas Ilgen (The Capital District; The Reed Party): Mr. Speaker, The people of The Capital District will ask what it costs them, and I should like to be able to tell them. I speak for the farms. A Bill that does not touch the farms is a Bill I can vote for with an easy mind; a Bill that does had better say so. The Bill says so in terms: Charged to the Annual War Appropriation. The Line is held. What the Line needs the House provides. I have nothing to add and I shall not detain the House. The Bill should pass and it will. [The Line!]

Paul Zinbeick (Westgau; The Workers' Front): Speaker, The members for Westgau have met and are of one mind on the Bill, which does not happen often. The Workers' Front has looked for the working man in this Bill and found him in the schedule, paying. The schedule is plain enough. Passed unanimously, as is customary for measures concerning the Line. The men on the planking will not read this debate. They will feel the Bill, or not feel it, and that is the only test. I support the Bill. [The Line!]

Ludwig Klannhardt (The Sudmark; The Assembly Union): Speaker, The liberty of the subject is a large phrase for a small Bill, but I use it, because the Bill is small and the liberty is not. On a Line measure I say what every member says: the Line holds, and the House holds with it. The members for The Sudmark have met and are of one mind on the Bill, which does not happen often. I shall not divide the House on it. [The Line!]

The Minister, in reply, said that the points raised were answered in the printed Bill and that the Ministry would consider the rest.

The Speaker: The question is that the Bill do pass. The House does not divide on a Line measure. The members rose in their places. The Bill was passed.

The House adjourned at ten in the forenoon.
