The return of the Clerk records the general election of the Assembly held on 4 October 1824, the fifth such election, in which two parties contested the sixty-three seats distributed among the seven regions. The Assembly Union was returned with thirty-six seats against twenty-seven for The Reed Party, and took seats in every one of the seven regions, as did its rival. Mean turnout across the regions stood at 75.0 per cent. Report of the election.
