The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The Clerk of the Assembly certifies the return for the general election of 1864, in which three parties contested sixty-three seats across seven regions of nine. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, twenty-two, against twenty-one for the Reed Party and twenty for the Continuity Party, each of the three securing representation in every one of the seven regions. Mean turnout across the regions is recorded at 74.4 per cent. Report of the election.

The Capital District returned a majority for the Assembly Union at 41.4 per cent of the vote, four seats of nine, with the Continuity Party close behind on 34.3 per cent and three seats. In the Ostrand the Reed Party led at 44.4 per cent, taking four seats to the Continuity Party's three and the Assembly Union's two. Kesselhöh divided its nine seats three apiece among all three parties, the closest contest of the return, separated by five points of the poll from top to bottom. The Osmoor returned the Continuity Party with 42.2 per cent and four seats. The Sudmark gave the Reed Party its strongest showing anywhere, 58.4 per cent of the vote and five of the nine seats, the Continuity Party reduced there to a single member. Norrfeld returned the Assembly Union with 47.5 per cent and four seats. Westgau divided four seats each to the Continuity Party and the Assembly Union, the Continuity Party ahead by three points of the poll, with the Reed Party returning a single member on 16.7 per cent.
