The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The Clerk of the Assembly returns the result of the general election held on 6 October 1869, the fourteenth general election of the Assembly, in which three parties contested sixty-three seats across seven regions of nine members each. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, twenty-four, against twenty-one for The Reed Party and eighteen for The Continuity Party. Turnout across the seven regions averaged 75.0 per cent, from a low of 58.0 per cent in Kesselhöh to a high of 90.0 per cent in the Sudmark. All three parties returned members in every one of the seven regions, though the margin between them varied greatly by district. In The Sudmark the Reed Party took nearly seven votes in ten and six of the nine seats, its strongest return anywhere in the country, while in Westgau the Assembly Union held its four seats against the Continuity Party by a margin of six-tenths of one per cent of the vote, the narrowest contest of the return. Kesselhöh recorded the lowest turnout, 58.0 per cent, and The Sudmark the highest, 90.0 per cent.

Return of the Clerk of the Assembly. Fifty-nine of the sixty-three seats returned at this election were vacated on 4 October 1874, at the dissolution preceding the following general election. The seat of Matthis Stiegl in Norrfeld was vacated on 30 October 1871; that of Bertil Wachs in the Sudmark on 28 May 1870; that of Aurel Brosbraurn in the Sudmark on 31 May 1873; and that of Lorenz Ziegel in the Capital District on 8 April 1873. This return stands as published, without amendment, on 23 September 2026.
