The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The general election of 1879 returned sixty-three members to the Assembly from the seven regions of the realm, each region returning nine. Three parties contested every seat: The Assembly Union, The Reed Party and The Continuity Party. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, twenty-five, and took seats in all seven regions, as did the other two parties. Mean turnout across the regions was 74.4 per cent, the poll ranging from 63.0 per cent in the Ostrand to 89.0 per cent in the Sudmark. Report of the election.

Return of the Clerk of the Assembly. All sixty-three seats were filled at the poll of 3 October 1879. Fifty-eight of the seats returned at this election were vacated on 7 October 1884, upon the dissolution preceding the general election of that year; the remaining five seats were vacated earlier, by reason recorded against each member above.
