The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

Sixty-three seats across seven regions of nine were contested on 6 October 1889, the eighteenth general election held under the Assembly's standing order. Three parties returned members. The Assembly Union won the most seats, with twenty-four; The Reed Party returned twenty-one members and The Continuity Party eighteen. Mean turnout across the regions stood at 76.4 per cent. No party returned members from fewer than seven regions, and no region returned members of fewer than three parties. The Clerk records that the widest single margin fell in The Sudmark, where The Reed Party took 53.0 per cent of the vote on a turnout of 61.0 per cent, the lowest recorded of the seven regions. The highest turnout was recorded in Kesselhöh, at 86.0 per cent, where The Assembly Union returned five of the nine members.
