The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

This return is made by the Clerk of the Assembly upon the general election held on 4 October 1899, being the twentieth general election of the Assembly, in which four parties contested sixty-three seats across seven regions of nine. Mean turnout across the regions was 73.1 per cent. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, eighteen, followed by the Continuity Party with seventeen, the Reed Party with sixteen and the Workers' Front with twelve. No party approached a majority of the sixty-three seats, and none went without representation in any of the seven regions. The Assembly Union led in Norrfeld with 43.4 per cent of the vote and took four of the nine seats there, its best return of the night. The Workers' Front, everywhere the smallest of the four parties by mean share, nonetheless led the poll in Kesselhöh and in Westgau, taking three seats in the former and four, its highest count anywhere, in the latter. The Reed Party led in three regions of the seven, the Ostrand, the Osmoor and the Sudmark, and in the Sudmark took four seats to no other party's more than two. The Continuity Party led only in the Capital District, where it took four seats against the Assembly Union's three, but its second places elsewhere were sufficient to bring it within one seat of the leading party nationally.

Return of the Clerk of the Assembly, entered upon the roll following the poll of 4 October 1899 and standing as of 23 September 2026. All sixty-three seats vacated on the dissolution preceding the general election of 1904, save for those members named above whose seats fell vacant earlier by reason recorded in the several writs of that period, namely those of Mr Brenn (2 January 1904), Mr Lenz of the Capital District (11 May 1904), Mr Lenz of Kesselhöh (21 December 1902), Mr Rusk of Kesselhöh (25 January 1903), Mr Lenz of the Osmoor (19 December 1903) and Mr Datel of the Sudmark (25 January 1903).
