The general election of 1939 returned sixty-three members to the Assembly from the seven regions of Schwartzistan, four parties contesting every seat. The Assembly Union took the largest share of seats, with twenty, against sixteen apiece for the Continuity Party and the Reed Party and eleven for the Workers' Front, which failed to return a member in one region. Mean turnout across the regions stood at 76.9 per cent. Report of the election.

Return of the Clerk of the Assembly. Of the sixty-three seats filled at this election, all but seven were held without a change of member until the general dissolution of 4 October 1944; the remaining seven were vacated earlier, by the deaths or removals of Magnus Krirpaust, Ursula Kicken, Paula Wendl, Rosa Krirpaust, Friedl Tarn, Oskar Turel and Otto Hallin, and of Willem Freinn and Hugo Ort, whose seats were vacated in 1943 and 1944 respectively before the dissolution. This return stands as recorded on 23 September 2026.
