The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

Sixty-three members were returned to the Assembly from seven regions of nine seats apiece on 4 October 1949. Four parties presented candidates in every region. The Reed Party returned the largest number of members, eighteen, though no party commanded a majority of the House, and the Assembly Union followed closely with seventeen, the Continuity Party with sixteen and the Workers' Front with twelve. Mean turnout across the seven regions was 74.4 per cent. Report of the election.
