The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The Clerk of the Assembly certifies the return of the general election held on 4 October 1959, the thirty-second general election, in which four parties contested sixty-three seats across seven regions of nine members each. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, nineteen, with The Continuity Party returning sixteen, The Reed Party fifteen, and The Workers' Front thirteen. Turnout across the seven regions averaged 73.0 per cent. Report of the election.

No region returned members of fewer than all four parties, and no region returned a majority to any single party. The Clerk records that the closest contest by share of the vote fell in Kesselhöh, where four parties finished within three points of one another and the seats divided three, two, two and two. The widest margin fell in The Osmoor, where turnout was the lowest recorded of the seven regions at 61.0 per cent and The Continuity Party took four of the nine seats on 42.0 per cent of the vote.
