The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The general election of 1984 was held on 4 October 1984 for the return of sixty-three members to the Assembly, nine from each of seven regions. Five parties presented candidates in all seven regions. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, sixteen, with the Continuity Party also returning sixteen and the Reed Party fifteen; the Workers' Front returned eleven members and the Marsh Preservation League five. Mean turnout across the regions was 66.9 per cent. Report of the election.

National result

No party commanded a majority of the seats returned. The Assembly Union led on mean share with 25.8 per cent of the vote across the seven regions and returned members in every region; the Reed Party, on a mean share of 24.8 per cent, likewise returned members in all seven, as did the Continuity Party on 23.5 per cent and the Workers' Front on 16.8 per cent. The Marsh Preservation League, with a mean share of 9.1 per cent, returned members in five of the seven regions, failing to seat a candidate in the Ostrand and in Kesselhöh.

Result by region

Turnout ranged from 60.0 per cent in the Osmoor to 73.0 per cent in the Ostrand. The Assembly Union led in the Capital District, the Ostrand and Norrfeld; the Continuity Party led in Kesselhöh and the Osmoor; the Reed Party led in the Sudmark, taking 44.9 per cent of the vote and four of the nine seats there; and the Workers' Front led in Westgau.
