The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

The Clerk of the Assembly certifies the return for the general election of 1989, held on 2 October 1989 across the seven regions of the Assembly, five parties contesting the sixty-three seats. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, eighteen, without securing a majority of the House. Mean turnout across the seven regions is recorded at 74.6 per cent. National result

No party approached a majority of the sixty-three seats. The Assembly Union and the Continuity Party together with the Reed Party returned members in every one of the seven regions, a distribution the Clerk's office notes without further remark. The Workers' Front failed to return a member in the Osmoor, and the Marsh Preservation League, the smallest of the five parties by seats, returned members in four regions of the seven.

Result by region

The nine seats of the Capital District and of Norrfeld fell to the Assembly Union in each case, the latter on a turnout of 82.0 per cent, the highest recorded of the seven regions. The Sudmark returned the Reed Party's strongest showing, four seats of nine on a vote share of 38.3 per cent, and Kesselhöh divided its nine seats among four parties, the Continuity Party leading there on 26.4 per cent against the Workers' Front's 26.2 per cent, the narrowest margin of the night. Westgau split evenly between the Assembly Union and the Workers' Front, three seats each.

Return of the Clerk of the Assembly, as it stands on 23 September 2026. Of the sixty-three members returned at this election, all save five vacated their seats on 2 October 1994, at the dissolution preceding the general election of that year. Jurgen Moor vacated his seat in Kesselhöh on 6 January 1990; Klaus Meitzmar vacated his seat in the Sudmark on 27 February 1991; Peter Amsel vacated his seat in the Sudmark on 22 July 1991; Martin Bauer vacated his seat in the Capital District on 20 July 1992; and Peter Moor vacated his seat in the Sudmark on 17 April 1994. The record of those causes is kept elsewhere in the Assembly's papers and is not repeated in this return.
