The Assemblyof Schwartzistan

This return is made by the Clerk of the Assembly upon the poll taken on 3 October 1999 for the general election to the Assembly, the fortieth such election held under the standing order, in which five parties contested the sixty-three seats distributed among the seven regions of nine members each. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, seventeen, and is recorded first in the national table below, followed by The Reed Party with sixteen, The Continuity Party with twelve, The Workers' Front with eleven and The Marsh Preservation League with seven. The mean turnout across the seven regions was 71.6 per cent, the returning officers of Norrfeld reporting the highest figure of any region and those of The Sudmark the lowest. Return of the Clerk of the Assembly. The particulars above are entered from the certificates of the returning officers of the seven regions and stand as the record of this office. The reader is reminded that the dates of vacation of seat entered against each member are entered as returned to the Clerk and are no part of the election result proper, being noted here only that the roll may be read complete. Members whose seats are shown vacated on 6 October 2004 vacated together upon the dissolution preceding the general election of that year, held under the writ of that date; members shown vacated earlier did so severally, in the ordinary course, and by-elections following those vacancies are not the concern of this return. This document stands as issued and has not been amended since first entered upon the roll of the Clerk's office.
