The general election of 2004 was held on 6 October 2004 for the return of sixty-three members to the Assembly, nine from each of seven regions. Five parties presented candidates in all seven regions. The Assembly Union returned the largest number of members, seventeen, with The Reed Party close behind on sixteen. No party commanded a majority of the House.
